3D printed Elastic Splint for joint rehabilitation
Using a cast for a long time after a fracture can cause joint stiffness and limited movement. There are many types of rehabilitation training methods to restore the joint's range of motion, but the training gains are easily rebounded. One method of rehabilitation is to use an elastic device to stretch the joint for a long time every day (4-8 hours/day). There is a product on the market called DynaSplint that uses this method. This document introduces a low-cost design solution that can be printed using a 3D Printer. Achieve long-term elastic stretching of joints.
This splint consists of three parts,Binding of forearm(Binding1), Binding of upper arm(Binding2), elastic connection(Connection). Attach Binding1 to forearm near the wrist, attach the Binding2 near the elbow of upper arm, then use Connection to connect the two parts.
